“Saving women’s lives through early breast cancer detection”

Welcome to Thermography Rochester. Do you know there is another way to search for the signs of breast cancer, a way that is gentle, safe, and painless? Our clinic is dedicated to bringing the most advanced breast imaging to clients throughout the greater Rochester area. Early detection is important, but prevention is the key!

The advantage of an early assessment of risk factors could be life-saving. Breast thermography, one of the best early warning systems available today, is a non-invasive, radiation-free monitoring of breast health.

Breast thermography uses infrared technology. Infrared images of the breast are analyzed and rated to determine the risk of developing breast cancer. Thermography is non-invasive, safe, and painless – no radiation or compression is used.

The infrared imaging process allows you to see the range and amount of heat, or thermal energy, emitted from the body. Structural tests, such as mammograms and ultrasound, rely on finding physical lesions (anatomy), while breast thermography detects asymmetrical blood vessel circulation (physiology) within the breast.

Thermography is based on the premise that before the growth of abnormal cells is possible, a constant blood supply must be circulated to the growth area. Thermography measures the heat generated by the microcirculation of blood in the breast during this process.

We also offer full body, upper body, lower body, and dental/thyroid/cranial imaging to visualize pain or indicate areas for aiding practitioners in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions, including:

  2. SO VERY GLAD to see thermography being offered for women in Western New York Area! I have been searching for YEARS since I moved up this way for thermography (and instead had to fly to other states for this service). I am a HUGE believer in thermography for women as a safe, non invasive way of breast imaging for early detection of problems. Kudos to you for serving this area. I am entirely grateful and will be referring all of my friends!

It’s not fair, but, currently there is not leigalstion that prevents this type of discrimination by an insurance company.I, myself, visited a Genetic Counselor to talk about the possibility of having the BRCA gene. We overlooked my family history and then the counselor advised that there is no protection against an insurance company dropping your coverage if they see the genetic testing in your file, and there is no protection against the Insurance company denying your claims should you get the disease. The best thing that you can do, if you know there is a high risk of Breast cancer (and even ovarian cancer, as there is a link between the two) for you, is to begin having mammograms as early as possible and having any unusual lumps checked out right away. Do a monthly self-exam. Talk to your doctor about the best time of the month to do the exam as the tissues change due to hormonal fluctuations. Breast tissue is on the dense side until about 35, but, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have baseline scans done if you are younger than 35.One thing to consider, also, if you undergo the testing an are found to have the gene and elect to have the prophylactic mastectomy you can still get Breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen website has excellent information regarding genetic testing, prophylactic mastectomies and how to reduce your risk of Breast cancer. My choice was to opt to be more proactive with screenings rather than go through with genetic testing. Until leigalstion is put in place to protect those who have undergone testing from being discriminated against by insurance companies, I don’t see a real benefit to patients who opt for the testing. Good communication of your concerns with your physician should lead to early prevention and detection techniques.
